Terms of service
TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: 6 September 2026
1. ABOUT THESE TERMS
These terms apply when you purchase or use technology advice services from MyTechAdvisor. MyTechAdvisor provides independent technology advisory services. You can contact us at our contact form at https://www.mytechadvisor.co.uk/pages/contact.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
2. OUR SERVICES
We provide independent technology research, buying advice and risk assessments based on the information you give us and information reasonably available at the time. Services may include product shortlists, decision sessions, technology buying plans, second opinions and suspicious-link assessments.
Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, we do not sell, supply, install, repair, insure or guarantee third-party products or services. The price of any recommended product, delivery, installation, subscription or other third-party cost is not included in our service fee.
3. INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
You must provide accurate and complete information about your needs, budget, intended use, existing equipment, location and any relevant restrictions. Our advice may be less suitable if information is missing, inaccurate or changes after we complete our work.
You must not send passwords, payment-card details, authentication codes or other unnecessary sensitive information. For suspicious-link checks, do not open the link first and do not send us confidential content unless requested through an agreed secure method.
4. INDEPENDENCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS
MyTechAdvisor does not have affiliate relationships and does not accept retailer or manufacturer commissions for recommendations. Recommendations are selected according to the customer's stated requirements and the information available when the assessment is made.
Technology, prices, stock, specifications, software support, supplier terms and security risks can change without notice. A recommendation is professional opinion and guidance, not a promise that a product or supplier will meet every need, remain available, retain its price or be free from defects, incompatibility, security issues or future changes.
You remain responsible for your final purchasing decision, checking the supplier's current listing and terms, and entering into any contract with a third-party supplier. Any purchase from a supplier is between you and that supplier.
5. SUSPICIOUS-LINK ASSESSMENTS
A suspicious-link assessment is a limited risk assessment based on the link and information available at the time. It is not a guarantee that a link, website, file, sender or communication is safe. Threats may be hidden, change after assessment or be undetectable without access to systems we do not control.
Do not click, download, reply, pay, disclose credentials or take other action solely because an assessment does not identify a known warning sign. Where appropriate, contact the organisation using independently verified details or seek specialist cybersecurity assistance.
6. DELIVERY AND COMMUNICATION
We will normally contact you by email, mobile telephone or WhatsApp using the details you provide. Any stated delivery or response time is an estimate unless we expressly agree a fixed deadline in writing. Delays caused by missing information, customer availability, third parties or events outside our reasonable control do not amount to a breach by us.
